"It's nice to see Cianfrance working in a less melodramatic key, with conflict at a low simmer, and he doesn’t cop out on the reality of the situation."

"A very strange but very entertaining movie."

"Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst find the heart but not the bruised soul in a true-life crime drama from director Derek Cianfrance that should have cut deeper and hurt more."

"The writers seem more interested in telling a sanitary good guy tale than considering Lancaster’s crimes...It leaves you with the feeling that there is a much better version of this gonzo true story still waiting to be told."

"Roofman is worth seeing in spite of the absurdity of the true story: it's one of kindness, heart, and a real testament to the human spirit. This is storytelling of old; this is cinema for the soul."

Excellent true story. Well acted, good chemistry between Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst. Funny at times, and terribly sad in some parts. Overall a very interesting screenplay.

Everything about this movie was excellent! I had no idea that the movie was indeed based on a true story until the end credits and everyone stayed through the bonus credits. So well done, the chemistry between everyone was palpable. I'd happily pay to see this one again!

Not bad. Good watch but not as funny and light hearted as the trailer makes it out to be.
